Customer Spotlight: Open Homes Photography

Our recent launch and growth in the San Francisco Bay Area has created a community of hosts and local companies that we are extremely excited about. One of those local businesses is Open Homes Photography, which recently used a Radious space in Berkeley to host a video workshop.

About Open Homes Photography

Open Homes elevates every home with incredible real estate photography, videography, aerials, and more, artfully captured to tell the home’s unique story. This is obvious when you see their portfolio of work! And hosts - don’t forget that great photography can increase clicks and bookings by up to 20%.

An intimate and collaborative workshop

During early December, Open Homes booked a Radious space for one of their regular training sessions which have, in the past, been held at a space they’d rent by the hour. But this time, the group gathered in a Berkley home-turned-meeting space, which they had access to for the whole day so there was plenty of time for collaborating and learning.

The workspace they rented features a light-filled meeting area alongside a large pool table turned conference table where people could gather and see the presenter at the front of the room. This colorful quirky space also has a large backyard with a hammock and seating area where the Open Homes team could take a break during their learning session.

The training they held at this Radious space focused on the latest trends and techniques in videography. By studying these, their videographers gained valuable insights that could be seamlessly integrated into their workflows, elevate the team's creative capabilities, and help Open Homes retain their position at the forefront of the real estate marketing landscape.

"For the first half of our video workshop, our hired presenter stood at the center of the room, surrounded by an audience of our visual artists. This created an intimate and engaging atmosphere where a dialog could naturally take place,” said Video Production Manager, Mike Walz. “After the talk, the group dispersed into smaller rooms throughout the house, facilitating more personal discussions and practical tips that made use of the house-like setting, which closely mirrors the typical types of homes we shoot."

By working together and sharing their experiences, the team improved their skills while embracing the distinct Open Homes aesthetic. This approach ensures that even when working separately, each member contributes to a unified and recognizable style. Working together this way not only helps each team member grow but also keeps their video content consistent and true to the Open Homes brand.

“We chose to book with Radious because the location was perfect for our 10-person team coming from all over the East Bay,” said John Hayes, CEO of Open Homes Photography. “Paired with the fact that the space was incredibly affordable and that it provided the aesthetics we were teaching about, it was perfect for our workshop.”
